Tennis Racquet Press String Art
A few months ago, I found a tennis racquet press at the thrift store. I'll admit it, I had no idea what it was. I thought it would make a neat picture frame and bought it. My husband enlightened me when he asked why I needed a racquet press when I don't play tennis. He should know better than to ask such silly questions!

Flickering Paper Lanterns on a Stick
On Thursday evening, my friend Maria and I took the girls to see the Lantern Festival at Missouri Botanical Garden. It was absolutely breathtaking! If you ever visit St. Louis in the summer, I highly recommend a visit to this annual exhibition.

How to Make a Wood Shim Crate......When You Don't Own Any Power Tools
We don't own any power tools other than an electric drill and a Mouse sander. My husband doesn't see a need for anything more. I wanted to make some "wood crates" for storage in our office and had to come up with a way to do it without a power saw. I ended up using a couple packages of wood shims, two sturdy baby wipes boxes, hot glue, and some paint.

Wood Canister Makover.......Triple the Twine
Recently I found two wooden flour and sugar canisters at the thrift store. They were very beat up and had a slight funky odor, but at 25 cents a piece I couldn't pass them up. I brought them home and gave them a serious scrubbing and sanding.

Patriotic Recipe Subway Art ..... as American as Apple Crisp?
As American as Apple Crisp.....oh wait that's not right. I can't make a decent pie crust for the life of me. No matter what I do they turn out tough and chewy, so I am making Apple Crisp for the 4th of July.
