My youngest was bored last week while her big sister was away at camp. It was a beautiful afternoon outside, so I decided to whip up a batch of sidewalk gel paint. It's simple to make and quick to clean up with a hose. And the best part, it kept her busy for an entire hour!
Are you in need of a summer boredom buster? Check out the recipe below.
DIY Sidewalk Gel Paint
Ingredients
6 tablespoons of cornstarch
4 cups of water
food coloring
Directions
In a small bowl, whisk together 1 c. of cold water and 6 tbs. of cornstarch until smooth.
Bring the remaining 3 c. of water to a boil in a saucepan. Turn heat down to low.
While stirring, slowly pour cornstarch/water mixture into the hot water.
Continue stirring until the mixture thickens.
Pour gel into individual containers. Stir in 5 - 10 drops of food coloring to give desired color.
Allow the gel paint to cool completely.
Have fun!
I love how simple this is and yet so much fun!
