Beach Themed Summer Mantel Reveal Beach Themed Summer Mantel

Over the past week I have given you a peak at some of my creations for my beach themed summer mantel. Now it's time for the big reveal!

I wrapped a bundle of DIY Driftwood with twine and set it in the middle of the mantel with a starfish perched on top.  Across the top of the mirror, I draped my Maritime Signal Flag Bunting. Beach Themed Summer Mantel

On the left side of the mantel, I placed a collection of sea glass in stoppered glass apothecary bottles, along with a jar of miniature starfish. Apothecary Bottles of Sea Glass

Moving to the right, I added vintage mason jars filled with river rock and seashells. Vintage Canning Jars Filled with River Rock and Seashells

On the opposite side of the mantel, I placed my painted and distressed Ship Wheel, and Photo in a Bottle. Beach Themed Summer Mantel

The two sea glass inspired bottles at the back are upcycled wine bottles.  I painted them with acrylic paint followed by a coating of wet baking soda to give a sandy appearance when dry.  The seashell bottle topper was made by gluing shells to a black rubber stopper. It took a while, but my summer mantel is finally complete.   I am absolutely thrilled with how it turned out!

  1. Your mantel is gorgeous! I love the sea glass jars! I also love your shell wreath your created.

If you have a minute to spare I'd be thrilled if you could link up this beachy post to my weekly Say G'Day Saturday party!

  4. What a beautiful and awesome mantel! I just found your blog and I am going to sign up as a new follower! I love everything beachy! Meghan

  5. It is beautiful! It turned out great. I need to get some sea glass and miniature starfish for some of my empty glass jars.

  6. Great ideas. Might just borrow a couple ;-)I never thought of using the seaglass. It just adds that POP of color.

  7. Where did you find your beach glass? Are these pieces you collected or purchased?

  8. It's not real beach glass. It's a Pottery Barn vase filler. I paid $4 for 4 lbs when it was on clearance and I had a coupon. I wouldn't have paid anymore than that because the quality is seriously lacking.

  9. Thanks so much for sharing at Fabulous Friday. I featured you!

  10. bookmarked your site....Lots to read and reread. Thanks for sharing your ideas. I love them.
