I snatched a hunter green ship wheel clock for 50 cents at a recent thrift store visit with plans to paint it for my beach themed summer mantel. The clock mechanism was broken so I took it out.
Then I set to painting it. I found my inspiration in the Laguna Ship Wheel from One Kings Lane.
I spray painted the entire wheel white first. Then I brushed on varying shades of turquoise and aqua acrylic paint. When it dried I distressed it with sandpaper and this is the result:
Love this! so cute for a nautical theme, great distressing job! I'm pinning~

ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to "20 Below Thursday"! :)
I love this! My Submarine Sunday link party has a Throwback Theme section, and this week's theme is nautical crafts. This wheel would be perfect! I hope you'll link it up... :-)
