Corduroy Bean Bags + Tutorial Roundup

Craftiments: Corduroy Bean Bags

I love open-ended toys because they encourage children to use their imaginations.  A couple years ago I made a set of bean bags for my girls which they continue to play with almost daily, while the mass produced, battery operated, plastic toys collect dust on a shelf.  I am constantly amazed and inspired by the countless games they have invented!  My niece recently turned two, so today I made another set of bean bags out of corduroy for her birthday gift.

I'm including a small metal pail for toting around the bean bags and to use for toss games.  A great open ended toy in itself, my girls find plenty of alternate uses for their bean bag pail.

I won't bore you with the details of how I made these basic bean bags. Instead I've put together a list of tutorials for some creative and clever renditions of this classic toy.  Enjoy!
