Hello! Just dropping in to share my most recent creation, a fabric wrapped wreath for summer. Without any particular plan for it, I purchased a Styrofoam wreath form on clearance. I couldn't pass up a good deal and figured something would eventually come to me. And finally, after it sat on my desk for weeks, something did!
I sat down with my overflowing box of fabric scraps and chose several coordinating pieces in summery colors. After tearing 1 - 1.5 inch strips, I began wrapping the wreath in sections, securing the ends of the fabric with straight pins. I added bits of leftover lace and picot trim.
I attached a cluster of yo-yo fabric flowers near the bottom and created leaves from gimp braid.
Deciding it needed a little something else, I grabbed some buttons and pinned them onto one of the fabric sections.
So easy and fun to make! And as a bonus, I made a dent into my stash a fabric scraps. OK, OK, it was a teeny, tiny dent, but it was a step in the right direction!
What a great way to use your scraps up.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for using up scraps and making something new without having to buy all the supplies!
ReplyDeleteCute wreath! I really like the button section! And I have so many fabric scraps, so this would be a great project for me! Thanks for sharing at Submarine Sunday!
